Cannot uninstall bbc iplayer
Note: If you see BBC iPlayer Downloads listed in the "All programs" tab, another approach is to start the uninstall from there and if Revo Uninstaller Pro detects an appropriate log from its database it will be automatically used for the uninstall. Open the Start Menu and type Apps and Features. Locate uninstall. Double click the file to start the uninstallation process. Method 4: Uninstall String with Run. Follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation.

I am going to cancel my TV Licence and i am making sure that i am obeying the law before cancelling and that i have no means of watching live tv or record TV and watching the BBC Iplayer So far i have de-tuned the TV's in the house and removed the aerials, even sold my Samsung Blu ray smart player with built in recorder and tv tuner, The only thing left to do is to remove the BBC Iplayer apps which i am finding it impossible to do because it doesn't give me a option.
MarkyPancake Distinguished Member. Some apps on smart TVs can't be deleted by the user. This level of control, or lack thereof, will have been decided by the manufacturer and perhaps the app owner has a say in it as well, such as it being a condition of the manufacture being allowed access to that app.
LV Administrator Staff member. As I understand it - the law requiring a licence requires you to actually use the equipment for a licenced purpose. Whether you own such a device or not isn't relevant. The onus would be on them to prove such use. Although inability of the equipment to be used in this manner is an easy defence, I don't think it's a necessity. Last edited: Aug 17, Thank you for replies, The last thing that i want form the TV Licencing people is hassle.
The requirement for a license is not exclusively attached to BBC transmissions. Note the words "on any channel". User's post on August 25, Open the download app Use file explorer to navigate to your download folder - mine in on a shared drive which admittedly probably doesn't help Simply click on the relevant media file and drag it into the app Your programme starts to play - simples!
Hope this helps someone else out. In reply to TomAllen-S's post on September 4, I've just realised I cannot stream anything at all.. I have Windows 10 and my laptop is an HP sa many thanks in advance for your advice. Same here - no help from the BBC as usual. They simply say they "cannot support Windows 10" at this time. It worked perfectly in Windows 8. Keep getting a message that reads "You'll need a new app to open this bbc-ipd".
Managed to find a way to put this app on using Firefox - won't work in any other browser , but only worked for a single time. Now it has returned to not being able to download anything. It driving me mad! In reply to Abel's post on September 20, Streaming should work normally - it does on my PC anyway. Only have issue with downloads. You won't need to install anything if you are only streaming stuff. However, as per other posts on here, the download part is currently useless on Windows
